Montparnasse-bienvenue
History
Known as the fourth most transited station of the Paris metro. Located in Montparnasse at the intersection of the 15th, 6th, and 14th arrondissements (districts). Originally opened in 1906 at Avenue de Maine and was named Montparnasse. Finally, on 1931 the metro line was added the Bienvenüe in honor to the main engineer of the Paris metro Fulgence Bienvenüe.

Reflection
As my first impression for this part of Paris I was confused on how to feel about the USB building. Such huge structure, trying to portray a more modern Paris. However, Paris is not a city to be modern. People do not visit Paris because of its modernism. On the contrary, like me, people visit Paris to immerse in culture, to relive the past, to be able to travel to another era. Coming to Paris is to be looking to dip into the city of love, the city of lights, the city were art and creativity was born. One looks to walk through the streets and encounter with history, were Louis XIV walked, were Marie de Medici had her afternoon strolls, were nobles would reunite to take a cup of coffee, the cafes were writers would sit to write their most famous novels. Paris is so much more than what the eyes can see, a city so fascinating and full of secrets that not even people that have lived here all their life have discovered all what Paris hides. I do not think is a good idea to try to turn history into modernism, Paris is history and should stay intact like a book in a glass case – protected and conserved as the first and only original copy.
