Les agnettes
History
Located on the northwestern branch of line 13. Originally opened on June 14th, 2008; and was named after Rue des Agnettes, the name of the street in which the line goes underground.
First Impression
- Low income zone.
- Mostly Islamic people living here.
- Stores selling Islamic clothing, Coran (Muslim bible).
- All the businesses we explored were either owned by Muslim or a Muslim was working in it.
- Difficult to find someone that speaks English
Reflection
In this stop I could appreciate even more how culturally diverse Paris is. Observing people speaking Spanish at the Pernety stop, and now people mostly speaking Arabic. I was curious so I did a little more research. I found out that Paris has different neighborhoods were you can see a lot of different cultures: jewish neighborhood, Chinese neighborhood, Latin neighborhood, etc; all coming together with the French culture. Even when its obvious that a person is not native to France and its easily noticeable their native cultures, they learned how to mix it with the French culture, and I was able to see this by exploring Paris.
